Life Drawing with Mel Bradley and Stephanie Gaumond

We have 2 life drawing sessions planned for during The Shrinking Universe. Come along and join model Mel Bradley and Stephanie Gaumond who will guide you through a range of drawing exercises. Each session is £2.

DCSDC Disability Awareness Week 2021
3 December
As part of DCSDC’s Disability Awareness Week, Clare McLaughlin returns to Void on Friday 3 December with her project Seen-Unseen. Seen-Unseen deals with the non – visual exploration of art and allows the blind or vision impaired person to experience artwork through their other senses.

We are also delighted to partner with North West Spectrum Group to host an exhibition of the group’s artwork in Void’s education space from the 29th November – 4th December. With thanks to DCSDC for funding.
Silver Tongued Deviance | Poetry night
8 December, 6.45 – 8.30pm
Silver Tongued Deviance, a monthly open mic platform, open to Spoken Word performers/singers/ (acoustic) musicians, returns to Void. These sessions occur in tandem with The Shrinking Universe, Eva Rothschild. While performers are invited to perform any pieces of work at the evening, you are welcome to develop and perform a work loosely in keeping with the themes of the exhibition.
Silver Tongued Deviance is a collaboration with Bluebell Arts, Derry and hosted by spoken word artist, Frank Rafferty.

Join Void’s Director Mary Cremin on a tour of our current exhibition The Shrinking Universe.

Art Packs

We have two upcoming art packs – a Create your own Sculpture pack, that is available from 26 November, and a Christmas suncatcher pack, available from the 7 December. A limited number of packs are made.

Become a sculptor for a day!
27 November, 12-3pm
Take inspiration from Eva Rothschild’s sculptural artworks and become a sculptor for the day by using a range of different materials to create your own 3D artworks!
This drop in session will take place between 12-3pm at Void Gallery. All materials will be provided and Zoe McSparron will be on hand to give an introduction to the activities every half hour between 12-3pm.
The Christmas Curiosity Club
Dates: 4th, 11th & 18th December
Sessions take place at 11.30am / 1.30pm / 3.30pm
Come along to Void for some festive fun! We are running a Christmas Curiosity Club where you will make hanging decorations to take home. Families can book in for these one hour sessions, where they will have the education space to themselves to self-direct through festive activities!
